CONWAY — For lovers of track and field, a little bit of rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of those who turned out to compete in the Division II Track and Field Championships at Millen Stadium on Saturday afternoon. There was plenty of fierce competition, and Kennett High once again proved it doesn’t take a backseat to anyone when it comes to hosting top-notch events. The Eagles once again soared in the hospitality area for the second consecutive year.
The Portsmouth boys and girls took top team honors on the day in the 22-school meet (506 athletes), and champions were crowned in 36 events with Kennett’s own Chris Caputo, a junior winning the long jump.
