MADISON — Carroll County rivals Kingswood and Kennett High took to the racing slope at King Pine Ski Area in East Madison on Wednesday for their annual preseason meet. For many of the Knights and Eagles, it was their first time skiing gates this season.

The schools competed in three giant slalom races, featuring two runs each. The Kennett boys dominated the race hill, while the Kingswood girls served notice that the Knights will be a factor in this year’s state title hunt. They defeated the five-time defending state champs in all three races.
