CONWAY — After winning a pair of 2-0 ball games earlier in the week over rival Kingswood and at Sanborn, the Kennett High baseball team’s bats came to life late on Friday afternoon and nearly pulled off a comeback for the ages. The Eagles spotted Stevens a 9-0 lead, battled back to get to 10-10 and were robbed of a dramatic win on a spectacular catch in center field in the bottom of the seventh only to lose 11-10 in eight innings at the Robert Burns Sr. Varsity Baseball Field.

The loss dropped Kennett to 9-5 on the season and into eighth place in Division II heading into the final week of the regular season.
