Do you remember the days of the roller skating rinks and how much fun you had with your friends and family on a Friday or Saturday night? There was the rink at the old Congregational Church by the cemetery in North Conway during the turn of the 19th century. Back in the 40s, maybe you remember The Vendome Rink above, what is now, the Conway Supply Store or you might have skated at Harold Briggs Auction Barn in Chatham in the mid to late 60s or at the rink which stood where Burger King is now in North Conway back in the 60s and 70s or glided in the 70s and early 80s at the Brennan House of Wheels which is now The Center of Hope on Redstone Road. It was all good clean, safe fun where your parents would either drop you off without a worry or strap on their skates and roll with you, since skating has no age barriers. Its been an easy twenty years since those days but thanks to the Ham Ice Arena we can once again enjoy the pleasures and recreation that skating offers, only now were on ice.The Ham Ice Arena on West Main Street in Conway is all about kids and family fun, just like the good old days.
