CONWAY — The North Conway Country Club is proud to announce that head professional Kevin Walker has been named the 2019 Teacher of the Year by the New Hampshire Chapter of the PGA. At the annual NHPGA ceremony held at Intervale Country Club, Walker was presented the award which is given annually to “the PGA Professional who exhibits excellence in the field of golf instruction and player development.”
His utilization of modern technology in his teaching as well as his ability to relay sometimes complex concepts in an easy to understand manner allowed Walker to stand out among his peers and earn this award. Walker describes his teaching philosophy as follows: “I think that there are many different and unique ways to effectively swing the golf club and that no two golfers are the same with respect to their physical capabilities, learning style or goals. As an instructor, I try to take the characteristics that the golfer already possesses and use my background in kinesiology and golf mechanics to make their swing more efficient. Whether we are working on improving the full swing, short game, putting, practice routines or the mental aspects of golf, I always strive towards making the game more enjoyable for all my students.”
