CONWAY — It was a banner weekend for the Mount Washington Valley Youth Hockey Association 10U Squirt teams the final weekend in February. The Eagles two teams (tier III and tier V) swept the Granite State League Championships at the Ice Den in Hooksett.
The Tier III Eagles headed into the GSL tournament as the No. 2 seed, boasting an impressive 12-1-1 record on the regular season. The action started Feb. 23 when the Eagles faced off against the fifth-seeded Manchester Flames. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead with goals by defenseman Sawyer Hussey and center Noah Deyak. Forward Cam Fusco added a third goal with an assist by defenseman Jason Millett. Deyak added two more goals on the night with assists by Millett and defenseman David Silvia III. Millett rounded out the scoring with a goal in the third period as the Eagles coasted to a 6-0 victory with goaltender Brady Campbell posting a shutout.
