CONWAY — “If we hit, we can be a very good team,” Coach Larry Meader said of the Kennett High softball team. The Eagles have strong pitching and solid defense, but the bats, like the weather, have been slow to heat up this spring.

Kennett is scheduled to open its season against Laconia at home on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The opener was originally slated for Monday, but was pushed back a day due to rain.
