To all my faithful baseball-loving friends and followers. You have not seen my column with the updates on the baseball events of the valley because I have been on the DL (Disabled List in baseball terms) for a month following knee replacement surgery of July 2. After 48 straight years as a catcher, it is ironic that the knee is the last part of my anatomy to need surgery.
