The valley is not flat. These are the White Mountains and they are aptly named. Rides can be flattish. They can be rolling. But they aren’t Florida or even rail trail flat.

• Rob Brook Road: Keep that in mind for a very basic yet invigorating mountain bike ride off Bear Notch Road in Bartlett called Rob Brook Road. Rob Brook Road is a meandering and rolling forest road. A few quick climbs are rewarded with refreshing downhills. To the rider new to mountain biking, this ride offers a chance to take things somewhat easy. Rob Brook Road is wide enough to cycle two abreast on a good gravel surface. The road is well-marked and can be done as an out-and-back adventure. The road is about eight miles long so just turn around when it suits you.
