North Country Angler - fly tying central

The North Country Angler becomes fly tying central beginning in November. (STEVE ANGERS PHOTO)

November marks a change of season for the fly angler. While there are still open water opportunities, the changing of the clocks and the chilling of the local waters shifts the focus from angling to preparation for next spring.

Fly gear will be cleaned and stored. Fly patches of fly vests and sling packs will be cleared. Fly boxes will be inventoried. Those who tie their own flies start to make lists of flies that need to be restocked in said boxes. Those who have gone down the rabbit hole never stop working on the hobby that is fly fishing.
