North Country Angling - Yellow Hornberg

Over the 50-odd years of fly fishing, there have been many fly patterns studied and tied with the hope of catching a fish. Some of these flies are one-hit wonders. They fish great for one season and catch nothing the next year. There are the tried and true patterns. These flies seem to work at catching fish year after year. They are the flies that never go out of style.

Then there are the patterns that get forgotten. Flies that were once go-to patterns for one reason or another got lost in the ever-evolving thing called fly selection. One such fly is the Yellow Hornberg.
