Under the tall pines of Whitaker Woods, Steven Cooney and his rolling band of young elementary school mountain bikers were taking a break after riding down a decent-sized hill. A cloud curtain hid a Mount Washington view.
When it was time to move on, Cooney, John H. Fuller Elementary School’s physical education instructor, yelled, “Count to three and follow me.” They created a long line that gave each rider some safe space as they continued on the pathways adjacent to John H. Fuller Elementary School.
