“Oops! Wrong way!” I yelled as I rode my bike off the trail. Pedaling the new Kennett High School Loop connection, I lost my way. Mountain bike trails covered with fallen leaves are sometimes hard to follow. Under those layers of leaves lurk unseen rocks, roots, and holes that can stop a cyclist cold. Add to that leaf-slipperiness, and you’ll see how fall mountain biking can be challenging.

Our group met at Marshall Conservation Area on a cold Friday morning. My birdbath at home was frozen. I knew I better layer-up for the ride.
