The Conway School Board has come up with a definition for “student service learning” (formerly known as community service) and is considering adding it as a requirement for graduation at Kennett High School. Board member Courtney Burke favored the move to promote volunteerism among students. Other board members said they support volunteerism but were not ready to formalize it as a requirement. Board member Randy Davison said he doesn’t want to “box in” educators into a specific curriculum.

This week’s Tele-Talk question: Do you think student service learning should be a graduation requirement at Kennett High School?
