The Conway Planning Board is drafting an ordinance that would place a one-year moratorium on commercial projects over 50,000 square feet in size, except housing. After a public hearing, the ordinance will appear on the warrant in April for voters to decide. The main target of the moratorium are hotels. Planners are concerned about their impact on traffic and that they are exacerbating the current shortage of workers. A moratorium, planners say, will give construction of housing a chance to catch up.

This week’s TeleTalk question is: Do you think a moratorium will work and should it include all large projects (except housing) and not just hotels?
