To the editor:It seems that some folks in this area feel it is their God-given right to receive free or reduced priced skiing simply because they are residents of the Mount Washington Valley. If this is the case, why aren't the golf courses, area attractions, restaurants, hotels, inns and retail shops offering the same "valley pass"? Because it is absolutely ridiculous to do so.I personally feel the valley pass is a gift. You folks need to stop complaining (your continued complaining may cause the mountains to do away with the pass altogether), say thank you and tell a friend, relative or tourist about your favorite ski mountain. Remember, without the valley pass you could be paying full price, and believe it or not, it costs the mountain the same amount of money to haul your behinds up to the top as it does for someone who paid full price for a ticket.Oh, just so you know, the mountains do not profit from the sale of these passes. I believe the money is used to pay their chamber dues and to promote tourism in the valley, which affects everyone of us in one way or another.P.S. If you want to ski for free, work at one of the mountains...they are all hiring.
