I’d like to respond to letter-write Jim Alt’s criticism of the Musk/DOGE team. His comments imply that the Musk/DOGE team is taking control of our financial systems. This is far from the truth. First, this team is only conducting an audit and nothing more.
It is almost comically naive for anyone to assert that a non-elected, non-approved, unqualified person should be trusted with access to sensitive, personal, Inside Information of millions of American Citizens. Furthermore, Elon Musk has recruited young people with no experience to help sift through these records. There is ZERO transparency, ZERO integrity, and ZERO reason to trust Elon Musk or his team to refrain from using gathered information to further the nefarious goals of Trump or himself. I can almost understand why people elected Trump to the highest office in the land. However, to support his destructive, wrecking ball assault on so many American jobs and institutions is baffling, since we all will suffer needlessly for a long, long time. It doesn't matter if you're a
Trump supporter or not: Your life - and the lives of your families - will get tragically worse, while the wealthy get a tax cut.
Except, of course, that Musk has no authority to even audit. The fact that there are still people dumb enough to believe he's going to stop at that with all the things he's already done is shocking. He wants full control of everything so he can stop every investigation into his dealings. The National Labor Relations Board alone has two dozen investigations going on Trump, and there are dozens more with other agencies. Musk is moving to stop them by taking over the agencies, just like Trump running for president to stop all his criminal charges. We were stupid enough to allow Trump to achieve that goal; are you really stupid enough to fall for it from Musk too?
