To the editor:

When I was in graduate school many years ago, one of the classes I had to take, which I thought was pretty useless, actually turned out to have the most impact on my life. It wasn’t hard, like memorizing the Krebs cycle or trying to purify a product using the Wittig reaction, but it turned out to be one of the most important learning lessons in life.
