To the editor:

We have been active in local water quality and environmental protection efforts in this region for many years. Our local water supply (both above the ground and in our aquifers) is the lifeblood of our local economy. We drink it, bathe in it, swim in it and play in it and it must be protected. Our tourism industry is vitally dependent on it.
