To the editor:

What a tough winter we have all had. My yard looked like a hurricane came through, with four large trees falling and breaking flowering bush limbs and fence slats on the way to the ground. For the first time, I had chipmunks running flat-footed from one end of the attic to the other. My cat was very happy due to all the mice that entered the house. Don’t even get me started on this year’s plow and fuel bills. Now, here we are in May with record cold spells and more days without sun and with rain than I can remember.
