To the editor:

President Donald Trump is very close to getting what he’s always wanted: an authoritarian state under martial law. In Minnesota, federal immigration agents have shot and killed another U.S. citizen in Minneapolis during a broad enforcement operation, and residents have reported aggressive tactics in other actions throughout the region. The latest fatal shooting has sparked widespread protests and calls for federal agents to leave the state.
