In this case, Trump said he thought the economy was going to have a serious recession. This is something that pretty much all economists agreed was likely to happen, although recently many have shifted and thought we would have a "soft landing." This is still just hopeful rhetoric. With high interest rates and US debt growing at $2 Trillion a year (!), it is still quite likely that our economy will suffer a major shock in the coming years.
So what Trump said was that if a crash were to occur, which he thinks is likely, he hopes it happens under Biden (i.e., in the next year) and not under his presidency.

Donald Trump recently declared that he hopes the US economy and stock market crash in 2024.
Proving once again that he is abominable.

The national debt increased 39 percent during Donald Trump's presidency.
That's no big deal for Trump the self-proclaimed "King of Debt."
