To the editor:

A recent letter implied that Congress is accomplishing nothing because it is “so occupied with this one issue” (investigation and potential impeachment of the president). The truth is that the House of Representatives, since the 116th Congress began in January 2019, has passed 366 bills. Among these are bills to expand voting rights; reduce the influence of big money in politics; prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation; raise the minimum wage; reauthorize the Violence against Women Act; lower prescription drug costs; and protect citizens with pre-existing medical conditions.
