To the editor:

The Maple Villa Trail in Bartlett has been seeing a lot of backcountry ski action this winter. In 1933, the Civilian Conservation Corp developed the Maple Villa trails. Later, a large condo complex was proposed for this land. Thanks to the foresight of Dick Ware, the Ware Preserve was created to conserve the land and subsequently the land was given to, and managed by, Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.
