To the editor:

This is an urgent request for Madison taxpayers to support Tri-County Bus Services, Article 26 on the town warrant. Although some may consider the Blue Loon as a subsidy, it provides transportation for the elderly and disabled, some of whom may not or cannot drive themselves and prefer not to become a burden on friends and family. Madison has no public transportation. Taxi fares are prohibitive. Blue Loon passengers pay a much smaller fee.
