OSSIPEE — A lawsuit brought by Carroll County contracted former chief financial officer Bonnie Batchelder against the county commissioners was argued Monday in Carroll County Superior Court, where attorneys debated whether key claims should proceed or be dismissed.

The March 30 hearing before Judge Mark Attorri focused on the county’s partial motion to dismiss Batchelder’s claims of breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and defamation.
