To the editor:

The summer months are when Granite Staters and visitors from across the country come to enjoy the beauty that Lake Winnipesaukee has to offer. Unfortunately, this year, we experienced multiple cases of harmful algae blooms, which pose a serious health threat for children and seniors, causing symptoms like skin irritation, stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, sore throat, headache, mouth blisters and acute liver damage — nothing you want to experience during your summer vacation.
