To the editor:On Tuesday, Oct. 12, we were one of four chalets which experienced a devastating fire in Linderhof. After I called 911, the fire department arrived in no less than 10 or 15 minutes, having to manipulate the big engines around a U-turn up in the mountains. We were amazed. We are so grateful to these firefighters who fought this huge fire. Their outstanding efforts kept the whole buiilding from going down completely. To think that these men are volunteers! The Red Cross and police were there and everyone was so solicitous to us that we felt we were really being taken care ofso important when you see your stuff being destroyed. We cannot thank them all enough.
