FRYEBURG — Despite making a great late-season push by going undefeated in five of its six final matches, the Fryeburg Academy boys’ soccer team fell just short in its bid to secure a spot in the Class B South playoffs.
The Raiders went 0-1-2 in its final three matches, falling 3-2 in a heartbreaker at home against Traip Academy (11-1-1 in Class C South) on Oct. 14, drawing 1-1 against Gray-New Gloucester (4-8-2) in Gray, Maine, on Oct. 16 and tying Lake Region (4-4-6) 1-1 at home (in a contested suspended with 29 minutes to play) on Oct. 21.
