A hearing Thursday will determine whether Kennett High School metals and machine tool teacher Andy Shaw will be terminated for hosting a party at which minors were reportedly drinking alcohol.

Superstar teachers are rare. Shaw is one them. He’s a motivator and a mentor and universally adored by his students. Shaw has been heavily recruited by other school districts, yet, to the benefit of Kennett High, he has chosen to stay in his hometown.
