Dan Roberts: Economy in downward spiral since 2006

To the editor:

The ever amusing Susan Bruce's recent  column reads like an out of control lawn sprinkler spewing  forth something that  certainly isn’t water.  Why is she so hard on  President Obama and  the Democrats? The Democrats control the House, the  Senate and the executive  branch. If they really wanted a completely  socialized, “Let’s  choke off” capitalism bill, what’s stopping  them?  Here’s a  senseless gem from her column, “We have a bill that would force working  folks to buy expensive private insurance from the  monopolies.” Monopolies? In plural? That means more than one,  if I recall, and the American people would have a choice. Kind of like “Pro-Choice” to put it in  terms Ms. Bruce can understand. Maybe  Democrats should elect comrade Sanders  (I-Vt.) to be their next Senate leader? Or  Barney Frank (D-MA) the House  Speaker? Not radical enough? The reason Ms. Bruce and her brood are in a tizzy is because the American people have awoken from  their 2008 election hangover and no matter if the health care bill passes or not the American people will vote their ire against Democrats in 2010 and they know it. Since the Democrats came to power in 2006 the economy has been in a  downward spiral and  ven though they'll deny they caused this economic mess there isn’t any doubt now the Democrats now own it  lock, stock and barrel. And it’s getting worse. How’s that hope and change working for you  Susan?
