Spend 10 minutes at the light in Conway Village on a Friday afternoon and you will see what growth looks like when it outpaces planning. In North Conway Village, delivery trucks idle behind visitors, while across town local commuters and tourists cut through neighborhood roads to save time.

Growth has brought prosperity to the Mount Washington Valley, but Conway residents bear the heaviest share of its cost. For years, our town has served as the valley’s hub. We maintain the roads, parking lots, and public spaces that make tourism possible. We absorb the wear and tear, handle the traffic, and provide the safety coverage that supports the regional economy. Yet the revenues that flow from that activity rarely come back here in proportion to the burden we carry.
