Andrew Cuomo, candidate for mayor of New York City, meet John Carney, mayor of Wilmington, Del.

Actually, the two already have met. Cuomo is the former governor of New York, and Carney is the former governor of Delaware. They've been at meetings of the National Governors Association at the same time. But one thing is sure: When their gubernatorial jobs brought them together at the state chief executives' annual summer retreat in Providence, R.I., eight years ago, the two didn't discuss city sanitation, sidewalk maintenance and tree trimming.
