The new, long awaited, but yet to be released, Tesla Roadster is a tour de force of literal space age technology that is as impressive as it is useless and expensive. The unveiling of this machine took place at the SpaceX testing facility in McGregor, Texas, and required an FAA Temporary Flight Restriction or TFR — those closed airspaces that follow the president around.

Why a TFR at a product launch (no pun intended) for a car? Well, this car flies but not in the conventional sense. The event was live streamed and hosted by Elon himself dressed in his best black t-shirt as he humorously boasted about features that would make James Bond and Q Branch jealous.
