In May of 1725, settlers from the flatlands, determined to take possession of the ancestral homes of native peoples, waged a battle that history records as the Battle of Lovewell Pond. Three centuries later the lust for the properties that are the homes of residents, by people from the flatlands, is an eerily similar consequential motivator. What is the major consequence awaiting local inhabitants who lose their homes in 2024 as they did in 1725? Clear and simple. Many will be forced to emigrate as did the Pequawkets of the Sokokis tribe, the parent tribe of the Abenaki Nation three centuries thence.
In all my years of listening to people complaining to me about their tax bills, never have I heard so many complaints, anger (make that outrage) and frustrations that border on despair. In their furious, irrational state of mind, too many seek someone to blame. Far too many are inappropriately lashing out at the good, dedicated, hard-working and loyal town employees. This is no way for anyone to behave, and I pray it will cease immediately.
I thought I’d heard it all. But then, right on cue, Mark Hounsell posts another article laced with his own brand of crazy. And this one’s a whopper, even by his standards. It begins with a ridiculous and flawed analogy of a battle waged in 1725 to the harm he continues to claim is caused soley by STRs.
He is so obsessed with STRs that he recommends that the “tax burden” shift “from RESIDENTIAL (emphasis mine) homes to second homeowners”. He is so clearly unstable that he still thinks second homes are not residential, despite the NH Supreme Court’s ruling that they are, in fact, residential properties. Even more provocative is that this mad suggestion is nothing less than taxation without representation. And he knows it.
As in the past, Hounsell loves to attempt to stir up emotions with phrases like:
“Ungodly spirit”, and
“Trickery of words that has mesmerized the blind”, and
“social evil enterprise”, and
“Suck up any remaining dollars”
And in the most obvious self-own I can imagine, he states:
“In their furious, irrational state of mind, too many seek someone to blame.”
Actually, Mark is spot on. The only thing he omitted from the cabal of the wealthy vs. everyone else is the irrational push to make Pot legal as a recreational pastime.
As the WEF Futurists have said, 'You will own nothing and like it" and "We will keep you happy with video games and drugs'.
So yes, there is an Evil that is rapidly spreading across the land. When our "betters" start trying to convince us that "men can be women and women can be men", or that "abortion up until the day of birth is perfectly fine", or that the mass invasion at our border is a positive thing, or you must get injected with experimental "vaccines" and shut down your economy. But the biggest deception of all is that Joe Biden is a competent, moral, innocent man, above reproach, and a better choice than Trump. What other proof do you need before you start believing 2+2=5?

That shoe fits Mark Hounsell perfectly.
