With the current COVID-19 pandemic, many voters are concerned about going to the polls for the primary election on Sept. 8 or the general election on Nov. 3. Absentee voting is likely to be favored by many this year.

To address this, the Legislature passed HB 1266, which allows concerns about COVID-19 to be a valid excuse to use an absentee ballot and the governor signed the bill July 17.
