Jonny Parkhurst is the first member of the Conway Yetis

The first member of the Conway Yetis was former Kennett High goalie Jonny Parkhurst (Class of 2011). “Let's give a warm icy welcome to our newest net minder, Jonny Parkhurst,” the Yeti’s Facebook page stated on Nov. 27. “Known for his stellar performances at Kennett High School, Jonny is now geared up and ready to rock the ice with the Conway Yetis” (COURTESY PHOTO)

CONWAY — The puck is scheduled to drop on the inaugural season of the new Union Hockey League on Saturday, but fans of the Conway Yetis won’t have anything to cheer about, at least this year.

Anthony Sierakowski, who directs hockey operations for the Union Hockey League, said Thursday the Yetis, who were the last of 16 teams added to the league for this season, will not be taking to the ice in 2024.
