LANCASTER — Following a three-day jury trial in the Coos Superior Court that concluded on Oct. 9, a Coos County jury returned a guilty verdict in State v. Troy Giles, finding the defendant guilty of dispensing or selling a controlled drug that he believed to be cocaine but was in fact the Schedule II controlled drug fentanyl to Jason Chandler that resulted in Chandler’s death.

The investigation into Chandler’s death was led by the Berlin Police Department, with valuable assistance by the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the New Hampshire State Police Forensic Laboratory.
