CONWAY — Selectmen on Tuesday decided to send letters announcing a complete pause to their rental inspection program pending a town vote in April. Meanwhile, the local rental owners association has also agreed to temporarily pause its lawsuit against the town.

On April 9, town voters overwhelmingly passed a warrant article to allow the inspection and regulation of long- and short-term rentals. The article required rental properties to pass a life safety inspection after which the town would grant them a certificate of rental compliance. The article essentially gave the voters blessing on a program the selectmen adopted previously.
