CONWAY — Memorial Day is the traditional kickoff to the summer season, even though the solstice doesn’t officially arrive until 10:57 a.m. on June 21.

Topping this weekend’s Memorial Day array is the Crafts Fair in North Conway’s Schouler Park 10 a.m.-5 p.m., today and Sunday; the always wild and wacky 33rd Wildquack Duck Race and Music Festival from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in Jackson Sunday, and the Seacoast Wind Ensemble’s Memorial Day Concert at 7 p.m. at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center at Fryeburg Academy, also Sunday. For a full look at local Memorial Day observances May 29, see the story elsewhere in this issue.
