CONWAY — Overshadowed by the animal cruelty trial of Christina Ray, and the rescue of her 86 Great Danes, a lesser-known case involving lesser-statuesque dogs is now making headlines.

Ray’s half-sister, Maria Guadalupe Ray, is being held on similar charges after neighbors got wind of Ray’s tiny house, where she kept 168 chihuahuas in conditions that are described as worse than a shanty town in Tijuana.
