CONWAY — As subscribers have been hearing for weeks, Charter Spectrum switched over to digital cable Tuesday, forcing those without smart TVs to get cable boxes or go without service. Apparently, it's going better for some than others.

Spectrum's change to digital-only service will allow it to offer a "substantial increase in HD channels," according to a letter it sent the town last month.  The letter said over 90 percent of customers already have digital equipment.

Even with a smart TV, a customer needs the set top box. My friend has three smart TV's and she gets no signal at all. She has to get and pay for each set top box. I talked her into getting an antenna and a streaming device that connects to the internet.
