CONCORD — Lawmakers after November's election will determine who the next New Hampshire Secretary of State will be — whether it's the veteran incumbent Bill Gardner, one of two challengers who have declared they are running or perhaps someone else who is as yet undeclared.

Gardner, 70 (D-Manchester), is currently being challenged by former executive councilor Colin Van Ostern, 39 (D-Concord), and former state representative Peter Sullivan, 51 (D-Manchester).
