CONWAY — Kearsarge Lighting Precinct resident Josh Brustin plans to submit a petitioned warrant article today that would allow non-owner-occupied short-term rentals of less than 30 days if the homeowners get a conditional permit. A Realtor and principal of Pinkham Real Estate of North Conway, Brustin served on the Zoning Review Committee appointed by Kearsarge Lighting Precinct commissioners after last March’s annual meeting to look into the precinct’s policies on rental properties.

That committee presented five options to commissioners, who reviewed them at a Nov. 25 public input session. Following further public input, commissioners on Dec. 5 presented their selection: to basically keep the ordinance as is, requiring owners occupy properties offering short-term rentals. But they added a caveat that would allow non-owner-occupied rentals of more than 60 days.
