MANCHESTER — On Thursday, U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas (D-N.H.) who has been trying to get a handle on whether to run for U.S. Jeanne Shaheen's seat once her term is up, ended the speculation with a 5 p.m. campaign kickoff event at his family's Puritan Backroom Restaurant in Manchester.

He made his announcement earlier in the day with an email that said: "I’m running for Senate because I’m ready to continue fighting against this administration, self-dealing billionaires, and extreme politicians who are threatening all of our futures.
