CONWAY — At the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Intermodal Transportation public hearing last week, Conway Selectman Peter Donohoe brought up his pet peeve, traffic and speeding on Kearsarge Road, asking the state and town to do something about it.

GACIT, made up of the five executive councilors and Commissioner of Transportation Bill Cass, has scheduled public hearings across the state in September and October. The plan is updated every two years. The draft plan under discussion is the 2027–36 plan, which will be completed in June.

"If you build it, they come". Well, they built retail shopping centers, hotels, and restaurants. Guess what? They came.

The only problem is that nobody considered the idea of widening or expanding the roads that brought them here.

Remember the famous By-Pass that never happened? Whose fault is that?

So now, Hurricane Rd. and Kearsage Rd. are the default bypass. GPS now makes local secret shortcuts public knowledge, too.
