CONWAY — U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas (D-N.H.) and colleagues in Washington have just wrapped up a 10-week session that saw a change in leadership. During a recent interview on Sun TV, the Manchester resident, who is seeking a third term as the 1st District representative, said the wheels of government can be slow to turn.

“We’re coming off of 10 straight weeks in session in Washington,” he said. “There was a lot of spinning of wheels, a fight over the speakership and a number of other things, you know, where the extremists are getting the platform, but those of us that are kind of focused on how we can solve problems aren’t getting, I think, the attention that we deserve. So there are a lot of days where I am frustrated, but you’ve got to steal yourself because change isn’t easy. And you know, our system is not set up to make broad sweeping change overnight.”
