CONWAY — As New England weather enthusiasts are no doubt aware, today marks the 90th anniversary of the day the summit crew of the Mount Washington Observatory recorded the “World Record Wind” of 231 mph.

From 3-6 p.m. today, the Obs will host a family-friendly event at Tuckerman Brewing Co. on Hobbs Street in Conway, with kites and anemometers (wind sensors) for kids, educational programs, a special commemorative T-shirt, live music, food, drinks and a ceremony with the families of Alex McKenzie, Sal Pagliuca and Wendell Stephenson, who were on the summit that day in 1934.
