BARTLETT — Norman Head, a community pillar in “the greatest little town on earth,” died Monday at his home in Bartlett after a lengthy illness. He was 80.

Head, a staunch believer in community service, held a record number of school and town offices over the years. He was a Bartlett School Board member and past chair; was the school moderator; served as town moderator for all four elections last year; and was on the planning board and the zoning board of adjustment. He was one of the key planners in Bartlett’s bicentennial celebration in 1990.
