CONWAY — Selectman Steve Porter made his feelings about the New Hampshire Electric Co-operative crystal-clear when NHEC’s CEO/president appeared before selectmen Tuesday to address what Porter has termed improper tree clearing along the North Conway strip.

Previously, Porter made his displeasure with the NHEC known at planning board and selectmen’s meetings last month, noting that the co-op had about 36 trees cut down in front of Golden Gables Inn, Circle K, Holiday Inn Express and Taco Bell.

Could burying the power lines underground solve future problems? It is expensive. I know not feasible for whole town, but maybe just the NC strip.
